I keep myself still,
listen to her talk.
Deep concentration
etched upon my face.
She looks at me now
I nod in understanding.
Sherlock chases criminals
In front of my eyes,
while I count every minute
spent waiting for the next.
My hands hold my novel,
bookmarked with fingers under my desk
I glance back at the clock
It still reads 20 minutes more.
